New York Triathlon Newsletter 3/12/26

our 2026 race season begins on March 22!

March edition-3.12.26

We hope the Winter has been treating you all well and you managed to get some training done! We are kicking off our 2026 race season on March 22, the 39th Annual March Classic Duathlon! The March Classic Duathlon has always been our favorite race. Is a great race to meet up with friends you haven’t seen over the Winter as well as a good race to test your fitness.

You can still sign up and registration closes on 3/19! Every participant will receive their limited edition finisher medals and Boco Gear running beanies!

Regarding the Central Park Triathlon scheduled for 7/26, we have to wait until 2027. We’ve been incredibly excited by the massive interest and enthusiasm from all of you. This race has always been an iconic event for NYTRI, proudly running for nearly two decades in Central Park. Many of you have emailed us sharing how happy you were to see it returning, and we’ve been just as hopeful to bring it back, especially with the new Davis Center ready to serve the NYC community.

Earlier this season, we submitted our permit application to the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Unfortunately, we’ve been informed that they are unable to grant us a permit for this year’s event. While this news is disappointing, the Park has expressed openness to discussing future dates, potentially in 2027. As many of you know, securing city permits for our races is never an easy process. We remain committed to trying again and will reapply next year.

The 4th Annual Palisades Park Triathlon/Duathlon on 6/28 is scheduled to open for registration on 4/1. We are currently working with the Palisades Park Commission to finalize various event details from police fee to road closure.

Remember to check out our full race schedule here from March to early November!

Another race we are very excited about is the Big Apple Triathlon on 10/10! Thanks to Alpha Win Racing, NYC is finally having a new/replacement race for the long gone NYC Triathlon. The old NYC Triathlon race is no more ever since it was sold and changed hands few times for more than 3 years ago. We are really happy that Alpha Win Racing is taking over and bringing their new race back to NYC! Head over to their site and sign up!
